We arrived at the specified time and place. The men who sent us the letters have been waiting for us. It all started yesterday. We received a piece of paper. “We have your dog” was written on it with crude letters. “Bring a billion dollars to the designated warehouse.” We didn't even have a dog (or the money, for that matter). Still, we went there, just to see what happens. A bunch of kids attacked us from all directions, with blazing super soakers and water bombs. Following the course of this, we were forced to ground our son for an entire week.

Dear Diary, I have broken an air pump today. I bought it and wanted to take it home, but I was ambushed by mutants. A massive air pump proves to be a very effective weapon to bash their skulls in. Sadly, I actually needed that pump and paid quite a lot for it, but I guess it’s better to survive another day instead of dying on a tandem trip through the mutie-meadows with your loved one. Still, we were pretty pumped about the trip and will think of some other way.

He has invented the greatest thing of all. Everyone will tremble in fear upon seeing their impending doom. Everyone. Even the neighbour’s cat and even the President. They will all come to their ends.  There are some neighborhoods where half the buildings are ivory white.  A few extend toward the sky like spires.  Denizens of those upper houses peer out their windows onto the streets below and smile because, from this angle, they feel like a bird.  An angel.  A god.
